Vikas Kharage takes over as VC & MD of MSRTC
Vikas Kharage, a 1994 batch officer of IAS, has taken over as Vice Chairman & MD of Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation. Earlier, he was Commissioner (Family Welfare) & Mission Director (National Rural Health Mission), Public Health Dept, Govt of Maharashtra.
Besides doing B E (Electronics and Telecommunication), he has also done MA (Governance & Development), IDS from University of Sussex, UK.
He has worked on the project of Elimination of Child Labour at Aurangbad & has attended international conference on Eliminiation of Child Labour organized by ILO. As a Director of GSDA, he specially worked on water budgeting, unconventional measures for ground water, and development of dual pump. He was awarded the prestigious Satyan Mitra Award for special achievement of Literacy Mission-2001 by the Prime Minister and the Mahatma Gandhi Peace Award for special achievement of Communal Harmony & Rajiv Gandhi Gatimanta Prashaskiya Abhiyan Award for excellent administration by the Chief Minister of Maharashtra. Under the Rajiv Gandhi Prashaskiya Gatimanata Abhiyan, he received 1st Prize of E-office system for 2012-13 from the Chief Minister.
