Bangalore machete man is a history sheeter
In fresh evidence emerging, the ATM butcher who had brutally attacked a bank manager on November 19 had tried to do the same act the previous day at the same ATM and almost at the same time.
Combing through video recordings of the bank’s ATM, the police found footage of the accused trying to barge into the same ATM of the Corporation Bank the previous day when a woman in her late twenties had entered the kiosk to withdraw money at around 6.40 am.
But as luck would have it, just as the `butcher’ was about the down the shutter, the lady’s husband walked in. The man was carrying the same bag that had a machete and wore the same striped shirt.
The footage then showed the husband of the girl questioning the accused after which he is seen walking away.
“Going by these two incidents and the CCTV footage, it is clear the attacker kept a watch for women near the same counter, around the same time on both days,” the police said.
Investigations show that the attacker was in Bangalore for three days before attacking Jyothi. He had withdrawn cash from different various ATM counters using the debit card of a woman from Dharmavaram in Andhra Pradesh, whom he is suspected to have killed.
Investigations have also revealed that after attacking Jyothi, he sold her cellphone for Rs 500 to a second-hand phone dealer in Hindupur in Andhra Pradesh.
