ED submit Bhujbal’s investigation report to HC
On Friday, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) submitted a progress report in the Bombay High Court pertaining to the investigations against NCP leader Chhagan Bhujbal.
Anil Singh, the additional solicitor general appearing for ED told the bench headed by Justice Vidyasagar Kanade, that the agency has filed chargesheets in two cases and is further investigating the money laundering case.
Singh, informed the bench that ED has also attached the properties of Bhujbal while investigating the Rs 800 crore money laundering case.
On the other hand, senior counsel Prasad Dhakephalkar told the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) had filed this public interest litigation (PIL), seeking ‘preliminary action’ against Bhujbal.
It may be recalled that AAP had filed a PIL before the bench and had sought action against Bhujbal, who is currently lodged in the Arthur Road Jail, since ED arrested him in March, this year.
Dhakephalkar, urged the bench to dispose the petition as the main objective of it has been served. He also told the bench that Bhujbal was admitted to JJ Hospital as he showed symptoms of Dengue.
However, the bench posted the matter for further hearing on November 16, as senior counsel Gayatri Singh, appearing for AAP was not present for the hearing.
