Techie commits suicide after fight with boyfriend

A 23-year-old software engineer committed suicide by jumping off the fourth floor of a building after a fight with her boyfriend in Pune on Wednesday. The girl used to work in Bangaluru as a software professional.

Juhi Nitin Gandhi, 23, who was a resident of Shantinagar society, Kondhwa, Pune, committed suicide in her boyfriend’s flat in Suma Silver Society on Wednesday. According to the police, she had a fight with her boyfriend before taking the drastic step.

Juhi had come to Pune to meet her mother who had recently undergone a surgery. She stayed back for a few more days, when she went to meet her boyfriend. They had a fight and she jumped off the fourth floor.

Kiran Tapase, the assistant police inspector of Kondhwa, said, “Juhi and her boyfriend were collegemates and they were students of Sinhagad College of Engineering Yevalewadi. Juhi passed last year and had got a job in Bangaluru. Her boyfriend is in final year of engineering. He, along with three more friends live in a rented apartment on the fourth floor in the society.”

He added, “Currently, the boy is writing exams for the final year. Juhi called him before coming to his flat. He asked her not to come as his has exams were going on. Despite that she visited him and they got into a fight. Later he was climbing down the staircase and was on the second floor Juhi jumped out of the balcony.”

She was found lying in a pool of blood. Her boyfriend and his friends took her to Bharati Hospital, but the doctors could not save her. “They were in relationship for two years,” said Tapase.
