When the semi naked RJD workers attacked the BJP office protesting against alleged witch hunting by the Narendra Modi led government, Nitish Kumar was presiding over the state level bankers committee meeting in a hotel at stone throw distance of the RJD on Beerchand Patel road.

Patna police led by City SP Chandan Kushwaha rushed to the BJP office along with forces from half a dozen police stations and prevented violent clash as BJP workers also came out of the office. RJD workers had entered the premises of the BJP office, damaged furnitures and assaulted some employees working there. RJD national spokesman Manoj Jha, defended the attack on BJP office and said it was a genuine outburst of anger of the party workers on BJP.

Nityanand Rai, state BJP president said the attack on BJP office was an attack on democracy and BJP would retaliate peacefully. RJD workers threw stones on the BJP office, assaulted BJP staff with lathis, he alleged.''

Former deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi who had been releasing documents related to benami assets and benami companies of Lalu family members said RJD workers resorted to goondasim and were given protection by the police.

Beerchand Patel Road which is close to Patna High Court is a prohibited zone, still RJD workers were allowed to take out armed processions and attack BJP office, he alleged. Many innocents on the road have been injured and dozens of vehicles passing through the road were damaged by RJD workers, he claimed.
