Bhujbal denies he is getting special treatment in jail

MUMBAI: Former Maharashtr­a PWD minister and NCP leader Chhagan Bhujbal on Wednesday said he would take legal action against activist Anjali Damania for making false allegation­s that he was getting illegal facilities at Arthur Road jail. Bhujbal and his nephew Sameer Bhujbal are in jail after the ED arrested them last year in money laundering cases.

Driver injured in accident at Talaopali lake in Thane

MUMBAI: A man driving at high speed rammed into the boundary walls near Talaopali lake at Naupada in Thane (W) on Wednesday morning. The incident took place at at Talaopali near Rajwant jewellers. The errant driver, Babu Nathiya Kankatala (28) who was at the steering of Honda city car lost control and rammed into the bench seats and damaged the boundary walls near the lake. According to the police, the car was about to fall into the lake but the tyres got stuck in the debris of the boundary walls.

EC gets 43 objections to MBMC delimitati­ons

BHAYANDAR: The delimitati­on process of the wards in the Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporatio­n (MBMC) initiated by the State Election Commission (SEC) has elicited an interestin­g response from the people. The commission has received 43 objections / suggestion­s on the proposed demarcatio­n of new municipal wards. While the rejig was declared on May 2, the last date to register objections was May 16. Most of the citizens have raised flag over alleged nonadheren­ce to natural boundaries and linking of far-off wards in the delimitati­on process, sources said. The objections will be reportedly heard and processed within May 26, before the SEC puts the list of new demarcated wards before the government for final approval.
