The actor has officially given his nod for the remake of superstar Sylvester Stallone’s hit-action movie

-

If reports are to be believed than India will soon get its own Rambo in the form of Tiger Shroff. It is said that Hollywood superstar Sylvester Stallone’s hit-action movie ‘Rambo’ is officially being remade in India.

Excitement galore Tiger Shroff is excited to get on board, but says he can never replace Stallone.Tiger said,“Being a martial artist and a huge action movie buff since childhood, this all seems very surreal, and I’m very grateful for this opportunity. By no means do I believe I can replace the legendary Sylvester Stallone; however, I do feel that somehow this is something I’ve been preparing for since childhood.”

The buzz around the remake is huge in India. Actors like Hrithik Roshan and Sidharth Malhotra were in consideration for the role, but nothing was materialised.

The remake will be directed by Siddharth Anand. Principal photography for the film is slated to start in February next year, with a release targeted for late 2018.

Desi twist The Indian remake will be given a ‘desi’ twist. It will follow life of last surviving member of an elite covert unit of the Indian Armed Forces who returns home to discover a war waging in his own land. And how he unleashes mayhem by becoming an unstoppable machine after tough training. Anand, who also directed

Bang Bang! – an Indian remake of Tom Cruise’s Knight and Day, said,

“Rambo is one of the most iconic action blockbuster films from my generation. I grew up looking up to heroes such as Stallone, and in a time where the Indian industry is lacking action characters of Rambo’s caliber, this is a perfect time to introduce Tiger in this role.”The director feels Tiger “has a power and vulnerability that will make him the next iconic action hero of our time”.

Unfollowing trends Today, when every Bollywood celebrity, in a bid to woo the youth, seems to be creating or setting a trend, the young lad believes otherwise. He said,“I am not trying to set any kind of trend. I am only doing what I believe in. I don’t want to start a trend or follow a trend. I want to make my own path and if people choose to follow that, it’s okay.”

So far, Tiger has worked in only dance and action based films.Asked about his choice of films and genres, he said,“I would like to do different sort of cinema when anything interesting is offered. Right now, I am young and strong so, I am just taking some advantage of that aspect. When my legs will get a little shaky, then I will minimize work in these kinds of films. I feel every actor should explore different aspects of their craft.”

Getting into father’s shoes Tiger Shroff says that he may not be able to do justice to his father’s biopic, but he would love to reprise role of Jackie Shroff from “Parinda”.

During a media interaction, when Tiger was asked whether he would like do biopic of his father or recreate any of his role, he said,“I will not feature in my father’s biopic because I feel, I will not be able to do justice to it. But I would love to recreate my father’s role from Parinda because it is my favourite film and my father won his first ever Filmfare best actor award for this film.”

Tiger finds the character of his father in Parinda very mature.“It was subdued and subtle character yet it was very powerful performance given by my father. I would like to blend those things and more than that the story of the film was beautiful showing brothers’ relationship,” said the actor.

Other projects Tiger, son of actor Jackie Shroff and a martial arts expert, entered Bollywood in 2014 with

Heropanti, is working on projects like Munna Michael and Baaghi 2.

Munna Michael, will see him with actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui for the first time. Tiger said,“I am really happy that Munna Michael is creating buzz on social media. We all have worked very hard for this film and I am quite happy with its outcome. The film’s trailer will release very soon. It’s basically a dance and action film, but I feel it’s a smart family entertainer with a nice message. It has attractive elements for the youth. I am working with Nawazuddin for the first time. It’s been a fantastic experience to work with him. He is very supportive as a costar and I learnt a lot from him. I hope people will like our work in the film,” he added.
