Shirdi Sansthan to start IAS training academy

Shri Saibaba Sansthan Trust (SSST), Shirdi, has launched a slew of projects and programmes as part of the Shri Saibaba Samadhi Shatabdi Mahotsav between October 1 to October 18, 2018.

The projects include starting an IAS-training academy specially for adivasi and underprivi­leged children, a cancer hospital, energy generation through solid waste, daily blood donation camps and many more during the centenary year celebratio­ns.

SSST chairman Dr Suresh Haware on Thursday said the management committee has taken decision to help women and students from suicide-affected farmers’ families.

He said, “The women from families of farmers who have committed suicide will be given amenities like sewing machines, setting up fruits and vegetable stalls, providing milch cows and means for sustained livelihood.

Haware added that besides this, the children of such farmers’ families will be given support in their education. The SSST chairman said that the trust has with the help of Non-Government­al Organisati­ons (NGOs) identified 600 such suicide-affected families of farmers.

The IAS training academy will have an intake capacity of 100 students who will be coached in appearing in civil services and other competitiv­e exams free of cost for a year.

Taking note of the need for a cancer hospital in the area, the trust in collaborat­ion with Tata Trust will set up 100-bed cancer hospital at Rs 125 crore in a year’s time. The hospital will be managed by Tata Trust.
