Digvijay loses Telengana too, Khuntia appointed gen-secy
Senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh has received yet another setback with the party high command taking away the charge of Telengana state from him.
The party general secretary is now left with only one state of Andhra Pradesh under his belt.
Odisha Congress leader RC Khuntia, a close confidante of Sonia Gandhi, has been made in-charge general secretary of Telengana with Satish Jarkiholi as the secretary.
The Congress leadership is now increasingly making efforts to fix responsibility of its general secretaries and other key office-bearers.
"As part of the exercise, Singh has been removed from the southern state where he could not galvanise the party which was in power before the state got divided", said a party insider, adding Ambika Soni too lost her job for the same reason. Maharashtra strongman Sushil Kumar Shinde was brought back to mainstream and made the general secretary of Himachal and Uttarakhand, the states which were with Soni.
A few months ago when Congress had failed to form government in Goa, Digvijay Singh was held responsible and was removed from the state and also from Karnataka which is going to poll later this year.
Earlier, Digvijay Singh was held responsible for the failures in Goa and Karnataka and removed from these states
