Salil Bhayani to tour US shortly

-

Salil Bhayani, illustrious Indian composer based in Los Angeles has been touring through India interacting with creative groups – both in private as well as public gatherings in the cities of Mumbai, Kolkata and Daman. He plans to return to the US shortly. "At Berklee College of Music, I was exposed to every kind of world music, including Japanese court music and African rhythms. But when I catch the veena's notes or hear the first strains of a hindustani classical singer opening his piece, I feel a soul which I think is pure India,” says Bhayani, excitement in his eyes. He has had his share of successes this year with numerous short films and video game scores that he has put out. One that is particularly noteworthy is the video-game ‘Somewhere’ by Studio Oleomingus. The game, which is under development, is expected to be released for Windows and Mac platforms by March 2018. The trailer was featured at the prestigious Tribeca Game Festival, 2017. Somewhere is a collection of episodes about the search for a city that does not exist. The city itself is a mythical one known as Kayamgadh. You navigate these stories by becoming other people and as you shift identities you realise that each person you become is a figment of another character's imagination and a part of yet another story. It explores the painful process of disillusionment whilst looking through the lens of its most ardent believers. He has shown true genius in creating the music and audio score for the bizarrely beautiful world of Somewhere.
