MU misses fourth deadline

IN A LIMBO Marksheets of commerce courses have not been printed yet

-

The Mumbai University (MU) has missed its fourth deadline for the declaration of results and a new deadline of September 6 has been initiated to complete the application for entrance examinations. In addition, the website where students can check results is not working efficiently since the past four days. Now, the MU has started a new website www.mumresults.in where students can check their results.

From Sunday students have been unable to check their results for they cannot find their results as the website is slow to load and a large number of results are not uploaded. The students therefore have no clue if they have passed or failed.

The university stated that the problem began from Sunday. Arjun Ghatule, new head of examination of the MU, said, “There was an abnormal switch off of the system on Sunday evening which means that the site crashed automatically. We were trying to rectify this till Monday and then there was heavy rainfall on Tuesday, which further paralysed the system."

The university has now set up a new website to check results. While as far as the new deadline is concerned the university is focusing on declaring all the results rather than announcing a deadline.

The students questioned that the university has gone against the court by not adhering to the August 31 deadline. The students claimed, “The university has caused contempt of court by missing the deadline. This is the fourth deadline that the university has missed.”

Though results of major courses have been declared there are over 33 results pending. These include three major courses like Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting and Finance (BAF), Bachelor of Finance Management (BFM) and Bachelor of Commerce in Banking and Insurance (BBI) and Master of Commerce (MCom) and other commerce courses of the Institute of Distance and Open Learning (IDOL). Also, the marksheets of Commerce courses have not been printed yet.
