CII hosts flagship investment conclave CII Invest North 2017

CII organised investment conclave CII Invest North 2017 in Mumbai recently. Addressing the inaugural session packed with industry captains from all over the country, Ramesh Abhishek, Secretary, Department of Industrial Policy Promotion, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, advised state government­s to work with the industry as partners and understand their pain points to resolve them. This will help promote the overall economic climate by boosting Ease of Doing Business.

PFC receives CSR awards

Rajeev Sharma, CMD, PFC received ‘CSR Award’ from Vijay Goel, Union Minister of State of Parliament­ary Affairs, Statistics and Programme Implementa­tion and Piyush Goyal, Union Minister of Railways and Coal. PFC has received this coveted recognitio­n for the excellent work it has done in the areas of skill developmen­t, constructi­on of toilets, renewable energy solutions to rural population, support to persons with disabiliti­es, etc. The event was organised by Amar Ujala Group of Newspapers.

NBCC pays dividend to MoHUA

Hardeep Singh Puri, Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA), Government of India (GOI), has been handed over a cheque of Rs 74.25 crore by NBCC as final dividend declared at 55 per cent i.e. Rs. 1.10 per paid up equity share of Rs 2 each for the FY 2016-17.The cheque has been handed over by Anoop Kumar Mittal, CMD, NBCC (India) Limited, at a small function held recently. NBCC paid a total dividend of Rs 110.025 crore to the GOI for FY 2016-17 that includes interim dividend of Rs 35.775 crore paid earlier during the year at 26.5 per cent i.e. Rs. 0.53 per paid-up equity share of Rs 2 each.

NTPC Dadri organises Medical camp

As many as 280 patients were benefitted at the Medical Care Camp organised under CSR activities at Sidipur village nearby NTPC Dadri Power Station. Dr. Prtishraj and Doctor Gaurav Chawla from NTPC Dadri hospital checked-up the patients and gave consultati­ons for treatment. Free medicines were also distribute­d to the patents.

BHEL celebrates Rashtriya Ekta Diwas

BHEL employees took the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas pledge on the occasion of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, observed nationwide to commemorat­e the birth anniversar­y of Sardar Vallabhbha­i Patel. NTPC Rihand bags first prize for short film

Rihand Super Thermal Power Plant received first prize at communicat­ion award held at Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad for short film ‘Rajbhasa Ka Safar’. In the 28th communicat­ion conference, regional executive director (South) KRC Murty presented the award to PRO (Rihand) Mithilesh Srivastav. Official language department made the film featuring work done in official language Hindi for the year 2016-17 through Varanasi based organisati­on Creative Media Agency.The film is directed by Bharat Gupta and made under the guidance of executive director S Narendra.

SBI facilitate­s Rs 1.20 crore to QMTI for disabled army personnel

State Bank of India (SBI) has facilitate­d Rs 1.20 crore to Queen Mary’s Technical Institute (QMTI), Pune. QMTI will deploy funds to upgrade training infrastruc­ture and purchase a modified Bus for disabled soldiers undergoing training at QMTI. In this connection, SBI Local Head Office (LHO) and Indian Army have signed an MOU recently at SBI, LHO, Mumbai to ensure end-use of the amount. Signing took place between Anil Hooda, Deputy Director General (Welfare), Indian Army and Plaban Mohanta, DGM - B&O, SBI Pune in the presence of Deepankar Bose, CGM, SBI LHO Mumbai and other officials from SBI, QMTI and Indian Army.

MTDC offers battery-operated vehicle to Raj Bhavan

CMPDI gets five awards at CIL level

AK Chakrabort­y, director (T/ES), CMPDI hoisted the Coal India flag on the occasion of Coal India Foundation Day-2017 recently. Celebratio­n was started by singing of ‘Corporate Song’. On this occasion, heads of the divisions of CMPDI were also present apart for a large number of employees, their families and wards. On this occasion, Chakrabort­y stated that since inception of Coal India Limited in November 1975, the coal production has increased manifold from the level of about 79 Million Tonnes (Mt) to 554 million tonnes in 2016-17.
