Plight of children
14th November, the birth anniversary of Chacha Nehru, is celebrated as Children's Day but it has lost significance over the years due to the poor plight of kids in our country. School kids are molested, raped & murdered in school compounds. They are provided with very little facilities. Playgrounds for children in schools are practically non-existent. Also, there is too
much stress for kids these days on school curriculum which gives importance to marks instead of intelligence. Suicides among kids too are on the rise. It’s high time the govt gives a thought on our education process to make life easy & worthwhile for children. Children's Day will only have meaning when life of kids become happy. We need lots of playgrounds, stress free education & safety for our kids which should not be difficult if we have the right infrastructure & a model of education that gives emphasis on creativity than on marks.
