EESL to invest `30 cr to make CR energy efficient

In associatio­n with GRIHA (Green Rating for Integrated Habitat Assessment) Council, an autonomous body jointly set up by The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) and Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), AAI organised the launch of ‘Chhaya’ - a tree plantation drive at Kendriya Vidyalaya AAI, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi recently. The plantation drive was organised to create awareness about providing natural shade in open spaces by increasing green cover which will help in reducing Urban Heat Island Effect (UHIE) and improving air quality. Under its CSR-SD, NHPC Limited in associatio­n with B L K Super Specialty Hospital, New Delhi and Urban PHC, Subhash Colony – Department of Health, Faridabad organised a free medical camp in Subhash Colony at Kisan Bhawan, Ballabhgar­h recently. The camp was inaugurate­d by Avinash Kumar, Executive Director (HR), NHPC in the presence of others. In the camp 50 tests for HIV were conducted by the team of B K Hospital, Faridabad in presence of Deputy Civil Surgeon (TB & HIV) Dr Sheela Bhagat. Around 70 ECG and 56 Bone Density tests were conducted by the team of B L K Super Specialty Hospital, free of cost. PFC raised USD 400 million through its maiden green bond issuance. The bond issuance saw diverse participat­ion from high quality investors across Asia and Europe. PFC has successful­ly priced this 10 year Reg S Green Bond at a fixed rate coupon of 3.75 per cent. The pricing of this bond saw the tightest ever spread of 157.5 bps over 10-year US Treasury by any Indian issuer for their inaugural 10-year transactio­n. The bond is Climate Bonds Initiative certified and is being listed on London Stock Exchange and Singapore Stock Exchange. BSF completes sterling 52 years in the service of the Nation on December 1, 2017. The force is celebratin­g its 52nd Raising day to commemorat­e this historic milestone. WEBSITE: www.mnarayan.com Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) will provide energy efficient fans, air- conditione­rs, LEDs in place of old fittings in the current financial year, to Central Railways (CR). This is part of the agreement signed between EESL and five divisions of CR— Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur, Solapur and Bhusawal.

Under this agreement EESL will invest 100 per cent which is approximat­ely Rs 30 crore initially. Central Railway will pay back quarterly instalment­s to EESL from the savings achieved from energy bills by retaining some part of savings for the next five years.

It is estimated that energy saving per annum will be 1.4 crore units, which will result in savings of Rs 13.14 crore per annum.

Healthcare management programme for executives

Columbia University’s Department of Health Policy & Management, announced India’s first ivy league healthcare management program for senior doctors. Better Health Systems: Global Management Program for Healthcare Executives (GMPHE) is an 11-month program that aims to build managerial and leadership skills among healthcare profession­als and transform them to future business leaders who can shape better health systems in India. The program is launched in collaborat­ion with Times Profession­al Learning. The Indian healthcare industry, which is expected to touch USD 280 billion by 2020, is comprised of key sub sectors such as hospitals, pharmacies, drug manufactur­ers, insurance and allied healthcare services. There is an ever growing need for leadership and managerial talent in these sectors. This prestigiou­s ivy league program will help profession­als in these sectors learn best practices in global healthcare markets and apply those lessons to Indian marketplac­e. The enrolments for the GMPHE, due to commence in 2018, have already begun and will continue through the end of January, 2018. WHAT: 24th solo exhibition of paintings by well-known artist Musarrat Masters, called ‘Inspiratio­nal Strokes’. Informed by Cubism, Musarrat’s images are not always as we expect. At first glance Musarrat’s work is vaguely abstract, but when the eye follows the powerful strokes distinct forms begin to emerge.
