CONCRETE ROADS:
Provision of Rs 434 cr for cement-concrete roads and Rs 590 cr for asphalt roads. Smooth functioning of 107 junctions proposed to be improved.
OPEN SPACES:
BMC plans to develop 40 open spaces reserved in the development plan 20142034, by March, at a cost of Rs 23.22 cr.
EDUCATION:
Outlay of Rs18 crore for providing tablets to students. The tablets will be updated with new curriculum. Rs 277.67 cr for renovating school buildings. E-library project for at least 25 municipal schools. 24 international schools (one in each ward).
FIRE SAFETY:
Rs 180 cr allocated to prevent fires; Fire brigade to get new fire stations this year, Rs 28.97 cr allocated. Also going hi-tech, to procure drones for assessing fires and robots for fire-fighting.
FLOODING:
BMC to spend Rs 53.71cr to deal with 55 chronic flooding spots. In all, there are 146 spots.
HOSPITALS:
230 ICU-ventilator beds worth Rs16 crore procured for 25 major and periphery hospitals to attend to emergency cases effectively. Rs1000 cr multi-phase redevelopment plan for Sion hospital, to convert it to 1,800-bed tertiary care facility. • Rs 340 cr redevelopment plan for Nair hospital, work likely to start this year.
WATER SUPPLY:
BMC to commission Powai to Veravali water tunnel arm and from Powai to Ghatkopar this year. Will improve water supply
TOILETS:
BMC to scrap pay and use toilets and make them all free for public
