Udayswar@Prithvi – The Singing Violin of Kala Ramnath

WHAT: Udayswar@Prithvi is a rare and truly unique acoustic experience of Indian Classical Music in the manner it was originally designed, for an intimate Baithak. Based on the 8 Prahars (time spans) of the day, this Indian Classical Music concert features morning ragas of the 2nd Prahar performed by various artistes. Born into a family of prodigious musical talent, which has given the world of music, violin legends such as Prof. T.N. Krishnan and Dr. N. Rajam, Kala’s genius with the violin manifested itself during her childhood. Later, she furthered her musical knowledge under the tutelage of Pandit Jasraj.

Hamlet the Clown Prince

WHAT: A bunch of clowns are putting up a show of Hamlet. They sometimes misinterpret the text, sometimes find new meanings in it, sometimes try and understand it, very often make a mess of it. They chose to use some phrases from the play and mixed it with gibberish. They even edited the text, threw out some important scenes, and made a mess of the order of things as if the pages got mixed up. But through this all they were simply looking for the essence of Hamlet, and trying to find a context in our own times. WHEN: Today, 9 pm

WHERE: Prithvi Theatre, 20 Janki Kutir, Juhu Church Road
