IASAP celebrates Administrative Professionals Day 2018
The Indian Association of Secretaries and Administrative Professionals (IASAP), Mumbai Headquarters, organises the traditional Boss-Secretary Lunch annually for its members and their respective Bosses. The theme for this year was coined by Homai Mehta, President Emeritus, focusing on today’s diverse role of the Administrative Professional in the new corporate workspace, was ‘Aspire to Inspire’.
This event has been taking place since the last three decades, and is always co-sponsored by Vivanta by Taj President and Blue Dart Express Limited. It was held on April 25th, when Admin Professionals Day was celebrated globally. The Presidential Ballroom at Taj President was packed with bosses and their Secretaries from myriad Corporates across Mumbai. Many of the guest speakers who addressed IASAP at their various monthly meetings in the last year were also present. Past Presidents, All India, also graced the occasion. Past All India President Zarine Commissariat was the compere. The welcome address by IASAP President, All-India – Vimala Dsouza of Bharat Bijlee Limited, was enlightening. K Srinath, General Manager, Sales Blue Dart Express Limited, addressed the gathering. Karan Godhwani, Director – Marketing and Sales, Vivanta by Taj President, also spoke on the occasion and commented on the appropriateness of the theme ‘Aspire to Inspire’.
An interesting panel discussion was conducted on the theme with bosses and secretaries sharing their experiences on the subject. To encourage participation from members an essay competition was organised on the theme and the winner, Maneck Daruwala was awarded at the event. The IASAP Newsletter ‘The Professional Secretary’, edited by Past President, All-India, Moti Vazifdar, was released by Nitin Rathod, General Manager – Employee Relations, Bharat Bijlee Limited.
The Governing Council members were introduced, and they looked cool and composed in their elegant uniform sarees. The past Presidents were also appreciated for their contribution to IASAP over the years. As part of the Administrative Professional Week celebrations IASAP organised a talk by Shaheen Mistry, CEO of Teach for India. The meeting was sponsored by ITC Maratha.
All guests received a memento from Central Bank of India. The function concluded with a sumptuous lunch, Taj style.
