No BAFTA for Anupam Kher

Veteran star Anupam Kher, who missed out on the opportunit­y to win the Best Supporting Actor nod at the British Academy Television Award (BAFTA TV Awards), said he is honoured to get nominated at the prestigiou­s gala and will wait for another opportunit­y.

Topknot. “Thank you, BAFTA for the Best Supporting Actor nomination for The

Boy With The TopKnot. It’s a great honour for me, for a Hindi medium educated boy from a small town in India whose father was a clerk in Forest Department. It’s a fantastic achievemen­t to be nominated amongst some of the top actors in the world,” Anupam said in a video on Twitter.

“Thank you to the Indian film industry for giving me wonderful opportunit­ies... I was not announced the winner among the four nominees this evening, but, neverthele­ss, I feel humbled and honoured. There’s always a next time,” he added.

The Best Supporting Actor honour was given to Irish actor Brían F. O’Byrne for Little Boy Blue. Supporting Actress title was given to Vanessa Kirby for The Crown.

Besides them, actor Adrian Dunbar and Jimmi Simpson were also in the list for Line of Duty and USS Callister (Black Mirror) respective­ly. While Sean Bean was announced as the Best Actor for Broken, the Best Actress trophy was handed to Three Girls star Molly Windsor. Other big winners of the night were TV show Peaky Blinders for Best Drama Series, Three Girls as Best Mini-Series,

Murdered for Being Different for Best Single Drama and Casualty was given the Best Soap and Continuing Drama award. The Best The 2018 British Academy Television Craft Awards took place in London on Sunday.
