RAJNATH SINGH REMEMBERS GALLANT OFFICERS AND MEN OF BSF

A total of 46 members of the force were decorated with medals

BSF Braveheart’s have been awarded with medals and honoured by Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh. A total of 46 members of the force were decorated with medals in which 14 members with Police Medals for Gallantry (including 4 posthumous­ly) and 32 officers and men (including 7 retired members) have been awarded with Police Medals for meritoriou­s service. Retired DsG/ IsG of BSF, serving DsG of CAPF, officers from different ministries of Government of India and members from print and electronic media were in audience with BSF fraternity.

The Investitur­e Ceremony organised on May 22, 2018 is a mark of deep seated affection and respect for founding father of BSF, K F Rustamji. BSF has been organising the Investitur­e Ceremony on the birthday of K F Rustamji since 2003.

Welcoming all to the occasion, DG BSF K K Sharma first paid rich tribute to the martyrs of the Force who gave supreme sacrifice on the altar of duty, serving the motherland. Sharma said that BSF is in constant endeavour of preparing itself in terms of strategy, infrastruc­ture, weaponry and training. BSF is carrying out relentless vigil along the borders.

The Director General also spoke about the ‘Soldierly traits and Visionary Leadership Skills’ of first Director General K F Rustamji, who is always popularly referred to as ‘Founding Father of BSF’.
