Trump signs 'Right to Try' bill for terminally-ill patients
United States President Donald Trump on Wednesday signed a major drug bill called "Right to Try" for terminally ill patients, allowing them to go for experimental medical treatments, which is not yet approved by the
US Food and
Drug Administration (FDA).
Many American public health groups and Democrats are against the Right to Try bill, saying the life of the patients could be put in danger.
In a India-related move, US President Donald Trump on Thursday announced that he was granting full pardon to IndianAmerican conservative commentator and filmmaker Dinesh D'Souza, who was sentenced to five years of probation in 2014 for violating federal campaign law.In a tweet, Trump said D'Souza was “treated very unfairly". Mumbai-born, D'Souza, 57, was convicted of making an illegal campaign contribution of USD 20,000 in 2014 to a New York politician.
Meanwhile, dieticians to Donald Trump have replaced his favourite steak with fish and have also discarded cheeseburgers, after the US President acknowledged in private that he needed to lose weight, a media report said. President Trump had embarked upon a mission to shed 10 to 15 pounds in January by altering his diet and with a new exercise plan to pull back from borderline obesity, CNN said in the report on Wednesday.
