51-year-old man attempts suicide outside Mantralaya

MUMBAI: In yet another stunt of attempting to commit suicide outside Mantralaya, a 51-year-old man attempted to commit suicide by allegedly consuming poison. The incident occurred on Friday afternoon outside Mantralaya gate. Gautam Kundlik (51) who had visited Mantralaya suddenly fell unconscious. The security officials at the gate informed the Marine Drive police about the incident. Kundlik was rushed to St.George hospital. According to Vilas Gangwane, Senior Police Inspector, Marine Drive police, “During investigation, it was found that Kundlik wanted to build an illegal slum in Kurar at Malad. However, the forest officials were not giving him permission for the same. No case has been registered. Kundlik’s condition is stable and he has been discharged from the hospital."
