‘Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar memorial will be completed on schedule, by April 2020'

MUMBAI: The Minister for Social Justice & Special Assistance Rajkumar Badole stated that the Bharatiya Janata Party-led state government is keen on completing the Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar memorial by April 2020. This memorial is proposed to be built on Indu Mill land. Badole on Friday visited Indu Mill land and supervised the constructi­on work for the Ambedkar memorial. At this time, he told the media, “The entire process of handing over the proposed land of Indu Mills for the Dr Ambedkar memorial project has been successful­ly completed. M/s Shapoorji Pallonji have got the contract for completing the constructi­on of this mega project.” So far, the work of pulling down the old constructi­on at Indu Mills has been completed and bore holes made at the proposed memorial site. Digging too has begun and so far, work on 134 shore poles has been completed. Badole assured work is on track and the memorial will be completed as per the original schedule. He also assured there would be no problem of shortage of funds for this memorial.
