Political opportunism
Aam admi wonders to see the way BJP after three years pulling out of the alliance in Jammu and Kashmir seems that the PDP as an albatross around its neck. No one digests it that the reason behind the political divorce due to Mehbooba Mufti advocated dialogue and a process of reconciliation, the BJP reposed faith and trust in a muscular security policy, but the lesson here is politics takes precedence over people, the knocking general elections 2019. BJP sees the writing of the wall, that instead of the PM Narendra Modi and the MoE Sushma Swaraja’s hype propaganda during UPA regime and 2014 election that if they form the government they bring peace in the sub-continent, after
strong action against Pakistan to pay heavy price like one Indian soldier’s against ten Pakistan soldiers. Instead during BJP-PDP rule, the world witness that how the easy way more than 650 soldiers and civilians have been butchered. Moreover, BJP’s hard-line approach to the separatists has proven to be a failure and reflects the party’s incapability in dealing with such tense situations. It’s a pity that Modi rules the country with his rhetoric but does not have a clue on how to run the Kashmir. Actually, by pull out of alliance, the BJP not only has shown lack of character (loss of Hindu vote banks particularly in Jammu and Ladakh) but also as an act of political opportunism with little regard for the aspirations of the people. — Bidyut Kumar Chatterjee
