Bollywood actress Ayesha Takia's husband Farhan Azmi, son of Samajwadi Party MLA Abu Azmi took to Twitter on Tuesday to inform the Mumbai Police regarding harassment and threats to Azmi’s wife, mother and sister by Kashif Khan, a business partner of Farhan.

In a complaint to the Bandra police on May 20, Azmi mentions that when he wanted to terminate the agreement with Khan, Khan had allegedly threatened Farhan through goons of dire consequences of doing so. He also spoke of an incident at his Bandra restaurant Café Basilico, where Khan's goons threatened him and took away his cash collections. Following this, Azmi requested the police to file an FIR against Khan. Earlier, Azmi has also accused Khan of falsely promising the opportunity to open franchises of his restaurants to nine people and the inauguartion to be done by Ayesha.

In his tweet on Tuesday, Farhan also accused Paramjit Dahiya, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 9) for ignoring all his calls and messages. He also tagged Prime Minister Narendra Modi and External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj in his tweet to seek help.He tweeted:"My wife @Ayeshatakia, mother & sisters are being harassed, threatened stalked by a litigant, @MumbaiPolice #dcpDahiya refusing to answer my calls or messages. #DahiyaIPS has illegally frozen our bank accounts Dear PM @narendramodi ji @SushmaSwaraj Pls intervene!!!” #betibachao!!!

Speaking to the Free Press Journal, Farhan said, “I have thanked everyone online that the tweets definitely got the Mumbai Police to call me. I will be filing a complaint at the Colaba police station on behalf of my wife and mother. My wife and mother have nothing to do with it in this matter. Kashif Khan has been doing this drama to avoid the court proceedings and the final hearing at the Bombay High court which is likely on July 20.He has been threatening my wife, my mother and my sister at late night in London telling them that I shall be going to jail. The senior police officials have assured me that on Thursday, Ayesha’s bank account will be unfrozen. The police have assured me that they will not interfere in this case anymore. However, since the matter is subjudice. The decision to file the FIR against me is illegal since the matter is already in the High Court.
