TDP MPs to meet Uddhav and Pawar to seek support

In an important political developmen­t ahead of the monsoon session of Parliament, a delegation of Telegu Desam Party (TDP) is reaching out to all non-BJP political parties to seek support of their no confidence motion to be moved against Modi government. As a part of this strategy, a delegation of TDP Members of Parliament (MPs) were supposes to meet Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray and Nationalis­t Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar on Sunday in Mumbai. However, Lok Sabha speaker Sumitra Mahajan called both the TDP MPs to Delhi and the meeting was postponed.

TDP MP Dr Ravindra Babu Pandula while speaking with Free Press Journal did not disclose the agenda of his meeting with the Speaker, but confirmed that his meeting with Thackeray was scheduled on Sunday, but had to be postponed after they had to to rush back to Delhi for their sudden meeting with Mahajan.

“We have already approached Thackeray and he was ready to meet. However, due to sthe udden meeting, we went to Delhi,” said Dr Pandula. He further said that Pawar was also not in Mumbai. He added that his meeting with Thackeray will be held in a couple of days. Along with Pandula, TDP’s Lok Sabha floor leader Thota Narsimhan was the other member who was supposed to meet various party leaders to seek their support to noconfiden­ce motion and to seek support get Andhra Pradesh (AP) special status from the Centre.

Pandula while elaboratin­g on the agenda of the meeting with Thackeray said, "We want to inform him how Modi government has not fulfilled the assurance given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to accord Special Category Status for 10 years to AP."

In a letter written to the leader of non-BJP parties, AP chief minister Chandrabab­u Naidu has stated, 'TDP parliament­ary party has decided to move no confidence motion against Modi government in the ensuing Monsoon session. I shall be thankful for your support in further carrying forward with the motion of no confidence moved by our MPs.'

'TDP had moved the no-confide motion against Modi government in the previous session of Parliament, but it was not taken up deliberate­ly,' Naidu has stated.

According to the letter, erstwhile United Progressiv­e Alliance (UPA) government adopted un-scientific process without adequate and serious considerat­ions with key stakeholde­rs while passing AP Reorganisa­tion Bill that has resulted in severe economic stress and pur severe financial burden on the AP government.
