Mega block on CR, jumbo block on WR

The Central Railway (CR) has planned a five-hour mega block on its Main and Harbour line in order to carry out maintenance work on Sunday. The Western Railway (WR) has planned jumbo block on Sunday to carry out maintenance work on tracks, signalling and overhead equipment. A jumbo block will be taken on Up and Down slow lines between Bhayandar and Vasai Road stations from 11 am to 3 pm.

Sunil Udasi, Chief Public Relations Officer, CR said, “Up slow line services leaving Ghatkopar from 10.58am to 4.24pm will be diverted on Up fast line between Vidyavihar and CSMT stations halting at Kurla, Sion, Matunga, Dadar, Parel (double halt) and Byculla stations. However, all Up slow services will not be available at Vidyavihar, Currey Road, Chinchpokli, Sandhurst Road and Masjid stations. Passengers of these stations are permitted to travel via Ghatkopar/Kurla/Parel/Byculla/CSMT stations.”

“Down fast/semi fast services leaving Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus Mumbai from 10.16am to 2.54pm will halt at Ghatkopar, Vikhroli, Bhandup, Mulund and Diva stations, in addition to their respective scheduled halts and will arrive at their destination 20 minutes behind schedule. Up fast/Semi-fast services leaving Kalyan from 11.04am to 3.06pm will halt at Diva, Mulund, Bhandup, Vikhroli, Ghatkopar and Kurla stations, in addition to their respective scheduled halts and will arrive at their destination 15 minutes behind schedule,” added Udasi.

All Down and Up slow services leaving from or arriving at CSMT between 11am and 6pm will arrive at their destination 10 minutes behind schedule. Up Mail/Express trains running during the block period will arrive at their destination 15 minutes behind schedule.

Up Harbour line services for CSMT leaving Panvel/Belapur/Vashi from 11.06am to 4.34pm and Down Harbour line services to Panvel/Belapur/Vashi leaving Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus from 10.03am to 3.39pm will remain suspended. “Up TransHarbour line services for Thane leaving Panvel from 10.12am to 4.26pm and Down Trans-Harbour line services to Panvel leaving Thane from 11.14am to 4pm will remain suspended,” added Udasi.

Trans-Harbour line services will be available between Thane-Vashi/Nerul stations during the block period. Panvel-Andheri line services also will remain cancelled during the block period. However, special local trains will run between CSMT and Vashi during the block period.

On WR, during the block, all Up fast trains will run on Up slow line Ex Virar/Vasai Road to Bhayandar/Borivli and all Down fast trains will run on the Down slow line Ex-Borivli to Vasai Road/Virar. Detailed information to this effect is available with concerned stationmasters. Passengers are requested to take note of the above arrangements.
