Inebriated techie dies after accidental fall

A 32-year-old informatio­n IT profession­al accidental­ly fell from the sixth floor of the PK Arch building at Kalina Village, Santacruz (E), and died on Friday morning. He was inebriated at the time of the incident, police said.

Tejas Dubey, 30, an Infosys employee, fell from his friend’s flat, room number 601, at PK Arch building at Kolaveri village in Kalina early on Friday morning. Dubey and his friend Rohit Sinha had been drinking the entire night. Dubey accidental­ly opened the window of the gallery, mistaking it for the washroom door.

According to Kailashcha­ndra Awhad, senior police inspector, Vakola Police, “Dubey was in an inebriated state when he awoke around 5.30 am to use the washroom. Dubey opened the window pane of the gallery of the flat thinking it was the door of the washroom. Sinha, who was also present in the flat, recorded his statement. the incident occurred.”

According to Sinha’s statement to police, “Dubey returned from Belgium on Thursday evening. I went to receive him at the airport. We were both drinking till late night. Dubey told me that he is going to the washroom. I do not know how he fell. My two other friends were present but they were sleeping at the time of the incident.”

Vakola Police have registered an Accidental Death Report (ADR) in this matter on Friday.
