BITTER LOVE AFFAIR LANDS TRIO IN THE SAME HOSPITAL
Spurned lover stabs ex-girlfriend & her present boyfriend
A 19-year-old girl and her 26year-old boyfriend were attacked with a chopper by a 24-year-old ex-boyfriend at Mankhurd on Monday evening as the girl had refused to reconcile with the accused.
According to the police, the accused was jealous since he had come to know that she was in a relationship with her colleague. Enraged, the accused barged into the Antarang Diagnostic Centre, where the victims work as technicians, and attacked the girl and her boyfriend. Later, he slit his own wrist.
The incident occurred on Monday evening at 6:30 pm. The accused, Chandrakant Salunkhe (24), attacked Sonali Dalvi (19) and her boyfriend Ashok Kamble (26). Chandrakant, who works as a peon in Pune had learnt about Sonali being in a relationship with Ashok.
On Monday evening, Chandrakant reached the Antarang Diagnostic Centre at Mankhurd and tried to convince Sonali to end her relationship with Ashok. However, Sonali declined.
In a fit of rage, Chandrakant removed a chopper and stabbed her on the left side of her neck and left hand. Ashok intervened, but Chandrakant also attacked him with the same chopper. After attacking Sonali and her boyfriend, Chandrakant slit his own left wrist.
Sonali, Chandrakant and Ashok were admitted at Shivam hospital on Monday evening. They were discharged from the hospital on Tuesday.
Chandrakant has been booked for attempt to murder (Section 307) voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons or means (Section 326) and common intention (Section 34) of the Indian Penal Code.
Nitin Bobade, senior police inspector, Mankhurd police station, said, “We have registered a First Information Report (FIR) on Monday night. Chandrakant is still undergoing treatment at the hospital. We shall arrest him once he is discharged from the hospital.”
