- CHHAYA MISHRA

President of Rashtriya Lok Samta Party (RLSP), which is an ally in the NDA, on Saturday sat on fast against the president of another partner in the NDA. Union Minister Upendra Kushwaha, a disgruntled leader of NDA fold, launched his fast against the chief minister of Bihar, Nitish Kumar, who is also president of JDU.

Kushwaha started his two-days fast at Devkund in Aurangabad, 150 kms from here.

Union minister said his fast was against the state government which ignored education under the leadership of the chief minister, Nitish Kumar. He alleged the Bihar government did nothing to improve education system in the state. Nitish Kumar has neglected education sector in Bihar, alleged Kjushwaha.

He claimed, as an union minister, he had sanctioned projects to open Kendriya Vidyalayas at Aurangabad and Nawada long back. Ministry wrote to the state government for allotment of land for establishment of KVs at two places four months back. But, till date, land has not been allotted, he said and claimed other state governments allotted land long back for opening of KVs.

Kushwaha is angry with the chief minister on political issues too and at the twodays convention of RLSP at Motihari on December 6 and 7, he had criticised the chief minister for vitiating atmosphere in the state. He is expected to meet the AICC president, Rahul Gandhi in New Delhi on December 10.
