We the citizens of Mumbai and several organisations, forums are severely disturbed and affected by the situation created by the BMC and BEST administration which aims to kill the city’s one and only most efficient road public transport system, the BEST bus service. We are shocked at the way BMC is silent on striking BEST workers’ demands and towards the citizen forums, who remain adamant, pushing their own privatisation plans, refusing to subsidise and finance BEST operations. In recent months, it has become clear that the BMC is out to shut the BEST bus system, step by step.”
