Fadnavis calls himself impassioned admirer of Balasaheb

-

In an attempt to woo Shiv Sena for an alliance for ensuing Lok Sabha polls, Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis used the opportunity to woo Sena at the special promo of ‘Thackeray’ film, where he called himself as an impassioned admirer of Sena founder, late Bal Thackeray. He made this statement in the presence of Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar. A day after his comment, senior Bharatiya Janata Party minister said Sena will fall in the line and make the alliance with the BJP.

A special promo of ‘Thackeray’ was organised for topmost politicians on Monday late evening by Sena spokesperson and Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Raut. Maharashtra's political big wigs, Uddhav, Fadnavis, Pawar and senior Congress leader Sushilkumar Shinde were present.

In a friendly question answer session, Raut Fadnavis asked Fadnavis questions on the saffron alliance and the ‘remote control’ politics of the government in 19951999. Fadnavis said at that time the go-to leaders for BJP were Mahajan and Munde. “During 1995 rule of Sena-BJJP alliance, most of the problems and issues were sorted out by the late Pramod Mahajan and Gopinath Munde. They were successful in convincing Thackeray.

Thackeray was a large-hearted person and that is why our alliance is still intact.” Fadnavis told Raut he should not worry about the alliance, they (Fadnavis-Uddhav) will find a workable solution. A senior BJP minister on Tuesday confirmed the alliance will remain intact and talks between Sena and BJP will

begin very soon. “After a few verbal spats statements between the leaders of both our parties it did seem as if the alliance would break, but after a few meetings held recently, the state leaders of BJP and Sena have come together. This is the good sign for our alliance,” said the minister.
