Aditya Pancholi faces case over unpaid car repair bill

- STAFF REPORTER

A Versova-based car dealer has accused Bollywood actor Aditya Pancholi of cheating and criminal intimidation, following which a non-cognisable complaint was registered at Versova police station on Monday evening. The complaint is regarding the unpaid car mechanic dues. Police said they will be calling Pancholi for questioning on Wednesday to investigate the matter further.

According to the complainant, Mohsin Qadar, in 2017, Pancholi had given his Land Cruiser (MH-01-PH-45) for repair. Pancholi had promised Qadar to pay for the job. To fix the car, Qadar first took it to a Juhu-based garage, where it was kept for several months but was not fixed. The car was later taken to a Delhi-based garage where it was finally fixed. Qadar then delivered the repaired Land Cruiser to Pancholi on February 23 last year and asked him to pay `2.83 lakh. When Qadar asked Pancholi to pay the repair charges, he refused to do so and threatened him to approach the police.

Qadar said, “I pursued the matter for days and asked Pancholi cordially to payup. Pancholi began to abuse me and threaten me to approach any authority as he was ‘untouchable’. When things blew out of proportion, I registered a complaint against Pancholi on Monday.”

Ravindra Badgujar, senior inspector of Versova police station said, “The probe is on. Action will be taken after verifying the allegations.”
