Maya goes from Behenji to Sushri on Twitter

It’s all about how to ‘handle’ oneself on social media. Accordingly, Mayawati, the former chief minister of Uttar Pradesh and president of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), has renewed her links with social media. For the reticent politician, who until recently refused to even carry a cell phone, she has done a digital about turn to announce her presence on Twitter, with a brand new handle, on January 22.

Mayawati’s official handle is now, @SushriMayawati, which already has 34,600 followers. She only follows one handle -@TwitterSupport. So far, she has tweeted 13 times.
