MU declares 110 results of winter semester exams

- RONALD RODRIGUES /

Nearly 110 results of winter semester examinations of Mumbai University (MU) were declared on Wednesday. Students can now apply for campus placements based on their marks secured in these examinations. Students however are cautious as they pointed out how the

MU had delayed the results last year, which further impacted their placements. Last year, several errors were witnessed in the online assessment through the On-Screen Marking (OSM) system introduced by the MU. These errors delayed declaration of results impacting the career of lakhs of students. This year however, the university has rectified all errors and the assessment is being thoroughly checked online and proved to be a time-saver. Vinod Malale, a senior official managing examinations and results of MU, said, "We have streamlined the online assessment process and rectified all loopholes. The online assessment is being done without any errors and results are declared on time. We want students not to worry as we have taken necessary precautions in result declaration and assessment process." Last week, the university declared results of Third Year Bachelor of Commerce (TYBCom) course, which is the largest course of the university. Jitendra Naik, a teacher said, "We completed assessment of BCom answer scripts on a priority basis as this course has the maximum number of students. The university has informed us to declare all results on time." Simultaneously, students are preparing for campus interviews for job placements. Shivendra Gupta, a student said, "We want our results of winter semester examinations so that we can apply for campus placements. We are glad that the university is declaring results on time." Examinations of Law and post-graduation (PG) courses are still going on and the university aims to complete assessment of these examinations as soon as possible.
