Teen found dead in Sindhudurg

SINDHUDURG: A girl from Pombhurle village, Devgadh taluka was murdered under mysterious circumstances on Thursday. Ankita Pawar (19), the victim’s body was found in a forest of wadachiwadi near the Futkadevi cha kada. Her neck was broken. She was lying in a pool of blood and some blood had splattered on a nearby tree. On Thursday evening, she had gone to the jungle to collect firewood. Police claim she may have been attacked by a wild animal. However, the forest officials say it is not so and she was murdered. The mystery of Ankita’s death gets deepens due to the conflicting theories as the cause of her death is uncertain. Her body was sent for the postmortem and samples of her blood and viscera were preserved. Vijaydurg police lodged an accidental death report, as they aawait the forensic reports.
