Award of wing ceremony of Coast Guard trainee pilots

At a ceremonial parade conducted on Friday at Indian Coast Guard Air Station Daman, 3 officers undergoing pilot training were awarded “wings” by Deputy Inspector General Siddharth S Sood, TM Commanding Officer, ICGAS Daman. The event marked culminatio­n of extensive flight training imparted to the pilots wherein they achieved competency to fly and operate coast guard aircraft in all weather conditions. The training spanned for over four months and involved honing of flying skills, study of ground subjects and various other aspects related to the service. After obtaining flying proficienc­y, the officers will be able to undertake operationa­l flying towards critical missions such as search and rescue, maritime patrol, coastal surveillan­ce etc. With the successful completion of training of these 03 officers coast guard air station daman has achieved a milestone in training of more than 110 pilots till date since the establishm­ent of training flight in 2009.
