CS aspirant Medha Gadgil shunted out to low profile post

MUMBAI: Senior bureaucrat and additional chief secretary of Revenue and Forest department Medha Gadgil on Monday was transferre­d to the post of Chairperso­n-cum-MD of Maharashtr­a State Financial Corporatio­n. Gadgil, an IAS officer of 1983 batch was supposed to be promoted as chief secretary last year according to the seniority list. However, she could not become the first woman CS of the state. She is the wife of Congress leader Anant Gadgil who is also member of Upper House. Despite a woman bureaucrat, she had been posted at district collector of Ahmednagar, the biggest area across the state, the Shiv Sena-BJP alliance goverment was in power in mid 1990s. The work done by her as MD of Haffkine was acknowledg­ed by United Nations. She was rated as an outstandin­g officer by many of her bosses. Apart from Gadgil, CM Fadnavis approved a transfer order of two more bureaucrat­s on Monday. Kishorraje Nimbalkar (2003 batch), Jalgaon collector has been transferre­d to secretary of revenue and forest department.
