- PRAKASH BHANDARI

Robert Vadra, the husband of the AICC general secretary Priyanka Gandhi and brother-in-law of the Congress president Rahul Gandhi, was grilled for more than eight hours by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) here on Tuesday.

The ED is likely to continue the interrogation on Wednesday also.

Vadra’s mother Maureen Vadra has also been interrogated for an hour and the officials allowed her to go after the questioning.

Earlier in the morning Priynaka Gandhi, who flew in from Lucknow to be with her husband on Monday night, dropped him and her mother-in-law at the ED’s office and flew back to Lucknow.

This was Vadra's first appearance before the ED in Jaipur in connection with charges of money laundering through land deals made by a company linked to him. Vadra was asked by the Rajasthan High Court to cooperate with the agency.
