NCP claims it will bag 11 seats

The Nationalist Congress Party has rubbished Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis's claim that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will win 43 seats, including Baramati, in the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls. Dhananjay Munde, leader of the opposition and NCP leader said the NCP would bag at least 11 seats in LS polls. The party spokesperson Nawab Malik challenged the BJP to name its candidates. He termed the CM’s statement as daydreaming.

On Friday, the BJP national president Amit Shah had said in Pune that unless the party must win 45 seats, or else it would be not considered a victory. Fadnavis had said the BJP would win 43 seats, of which the 43rd one would be Baramati.

Munde said, there is unrest among the people and the BJP is not aware about the undercurrent against it. “Let Fadnavis say what he wants, we are confident of winning 11 seats in the LS polls,” said Munde.

According to Munde, the NCP will bag seats like Madha,

Baramati, Raigad, Satara, Kolhapur, Maval, Osmanabad, Parbhani, Buldhana, Bhandara-Gondia and Mumbai North-East.

“There will be a neck and neck fight in Beed, Aurangabad and Ahmednagar constituencies and we hope, NCP can also win these seats,” said Munde.

Parth Pawar, is a probable party candidate from Maval against the Shiv Sena’s Srirang Barane. Other probables are Rana Jagjitsingh for Osmanabad, Satish Chavan

for Aurangabad, Rajendra Shingne for Buldhana, Sunil Tatkare from Raigad, the wife of Praful Patel or sitting MP Madhukar Kukde from Bhandara-Gondia. The sitting MP Supriya Sule from Baramati and Udyan Raje Bhosale will defend their seats. The candidate for Kolhapur and Madha are yet to be finalised. Party leaders have urged Sharad Pawar to contest from Madha. The dispute over Aurangabad and Ahmednagar seats, howeve, is yet to be resolved.
