Vehicles, shops gutted in Vasai fire

MUMBAI: A fire broke out in Ambadi Road, Vasai (W) on Wednesday morning after a blast occurred in a transforme­r, causing vehicles parked in the vicinity to catch fire. Some shops in the area were also engulfed in the blaze. However, no casualty was reported. The inicdent happened at 10 am. The Vasai-Virar Municipal Corporatio­n’s fire brigade team was rushed to the spot. According to fire officials, three parked cars, two motorbikes and three shops were gutted. The fire was caused by a short-circuit, said officials.
