Man enters abandoned home to smoke weed, finds a tiger

-

TEXAS: A man who entered an abandoned building to have a quick puff of cannabis got the surprise of his life when he was greeted by a real live tiger.

Upon entering an abandoned home in southeast Houston, Texas, expecting to find a quiet place in which to get lifted, the man instead found the giant cat enclosed in a cage in the home’s garage, reported thegrowthop.com reported.

Once he realised he was not hallucinating the concerned cannabis enthusiast immediately notified authorities, who were understandably skeptical about the man’s story.

“We questioned them as to whether they were under the effects of the drugs or they actually saw a tiger,” Sgt Jason Alderete of the Houston Police Department’s Major Offenders, Livestock Animal Cruelty Unit told local news network KTRK.

But sure enough, the female tiger was in its cage to greet them when police pulled up on the scene–in a cage, police described as “rinky-dink.” The garage was unlocked.

Alderete said that the house had been abandoned some time ago. Whoever had caged the feline had left it several packages of meat.

Once they picked their jaws up off the floor, officers secured a warrant, tranquilised the tiger and removed it from its cage using a wrecker. It was then transferred to an animal shelter for examination and care.
