60-yr-old man held for raping runaway girl

A 60-year-old man was arrested for allegedly raping a girl, 16, who had run away from home in Sewree, south Mumbai. She was slapped by sister for returning home late on Wednesday. In anger, the victim left the house and took a train to Panvel. The accused Ganesh Krishna Shetty (60) approached her at Panvel station on finding her alone early on Thursday. She said she was an orphan and needed work and shelter. After promising a job at a clinic, he took her to a lodge and allegedly raped her, police said.
