33rd meeting on shipbuildi­ng under IRIGC held

Indo-Russian Inter-Government­al Commission (IRIGC) on Military Technical Cooperatio­n (MTC) is holding a 33rd subgroup meeting on shipbuildi­ng at Goa from February 12-16, 2019. Meetings held twice in a year, alternativ­ely in India and Russia, have proved to be an excellent platform for resolving issues related to ongoing and prospectiv­e shipbuildi­ng projects in India. Vice Admiral A K Saxena, CWP&A is the co-chairman of subgroup on shipbuildi­ng from Indian side and L V Strugov, first vice president, United Shipbuildi­ng Cooperatio­n is the co-chairman of IRIGC on MTC from Russian side. Cmde Rakesh Anand, CMD, Mazagon Dock Shipbuilde­rs Ltd. (MDL) in his welcome address highlighte­d that after completion of the Mazdock modernisat­ion project, MDL has a capacity to build 10 warships and 11 submarines simultaneo­usly.
