Cong asks Centre to intervene
With Puducherry CM V Narayanasamy continuing a sit-in strike for the sixth day, four senior Congress leaders on Monday wrote to Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh to intervene and chastise Lt Governor Kiran Bedi for all her wrongs.
Forwarding the chief minister’s letter to Bedi, they urged the Rajnath "to ensure that the democratically elected government is able to discharge its constitutional responsibility in Puducherry. In his letter, chief minister has levelled 36 charges of interference by the Bedi, dubbing them as "unconstitutional and wanton acts to stop development works in Puducherry to bring disrepute to the democratically elected Congress and DMK alliance government."
