Preparatio­n tips for board exams

The board exams for class Xth and XIIth are considered to be the watershed years for any child aspiring to make a mark for himself. It is only natural to feel anxious and nervous about the impending exams as so much depends on them. However, correct planning, hard work and discipline followed by heart can help any student achieve their desired score in these or any of the forthcomin­g exams. Here is a list of dos & don’ts for the students:

Do’s: Tips for preparatio­n:

• In order to get the highest score, students must finish entire course of syllabus and grasp the concepts well

• Students should divide their hours of studies according to each subject. Give the maximum time to subjects in which they can score higher

• Always practice the previous year’s question papers and time yourself while you attempt to do the same

• Pre-boards: Never overlook them and give your best in pre-board exams

• The first 15 minutes are the key to your success. Read the questions carefully, choose the questions with equal caution and plan it wisely.

• Do not panic, stay calm and don’t get excited as this can sometimes lead to misreading the questions

• Always give time as per the need of the question. You should know how much to write for a one mark question and a five marks question. Keep your answers to the point, precise and neat.

• Attempt all questions: Since there is no negative marking in board exams, try to attempt all questions

Don’ts:

• Do not panic and stress during the day of exam. Sleep well and attempt the exam with fresh mind

• Do not stress yourself thinking too much about the result and keep focus on right preparatio­n & process instead. Eat lots of fruits and anti-oxidants so that anxiety does not come in mind.

• Never pile up your doubts and do not discuss the questions papers with your peers
