- - Staff Reporter

MUMBAI: Even as she is facing trial for serious offences, Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur, prime accused in the 2008 Malegaon blast case, has set up a new ‘akhada’ in Kumbh Mela at Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, on Tuesday. Soon after her announcement of the ‘Bharat Bhakti Akhada,’ the sadhvi was appointed the Acharya Mahamandaleshwar (top priest) of the religious group. Though the sadhvi and her supporters have performed all the poojas, her new akhada is yet to be certified by the Akhil Bharatiya Akhada Parishad or the saints’ society. Sadhvi Pragya reached Kumbh Mela on Tuesday and performed the Varanasi pooja, on the Shahi Snan (Mauni Amavasya), reports Nav Bharat Times. According to the report, Sadhvi Pragya has said that the construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya, is no more a political issue but is a religious one. “We had gone to Ayodhya to demolish the structure then and now we will surely visit the place for construction of the temple of Lord Ram. The day when Lord Ram will ask us, all his devotees will commence the construction of Ram Mandir,” Sadhvi has reportedly said. May it be noted that Sadhvi Pragya is out on bail from the case but is not yet discharged by the trial court, which has framed charges under Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and other laws, against her and other accused in the case.
