Man murdered by wife and her lover

Boisar police found a dead body of a 32-year-old man from from the bushes of MIDC Shivajinag­ar on February 16. His wife had reported a missing person complaint, on February 15.

According to the Boisar police, Mamta, the wife of the deceased, Anil Kumar Rawat (32) had approached them on February 15 and filed a complaint that her husband had gone missing since three days before reporting. as she claimed he did not returned from office.

On the morning of February 16, around 10 am, the police received a call from an unknown person, informing that a dead body lying in the bushes of forest in MIDC area. The police reached at the spot and recovered the body of a man, at Shivajinag­ar. This body was in a decomposed state, with multiple wounds.

Later the body was sent for a post mortem and it was confirmed that the body fit the descriptio­n of the missing person, Anil. The report even stated, there were multiple wounds on the shoulders, right eye, head, stomach and Anil's face, stating he may have been attacked with a sharp weapon.

Police launched further investigat­ions and they learnt of the affair between Mamta Rawat (22) with Anil's distant relative, Ramprakash Rawat (22). Ramprakash had been living with them since a while, but left their home on the same day that Anil went missing. This confirmed the doubts of police who searched the house and found some blood stains on the walls, which were leading traces of evidence. The blood samples were sent to the forensic test to match with that of the victim's and it was confirmed by the laboratory.

Police picked up Mamta and interrogat­ed her. Police claim she initially was resisting to admit to her crime, but later she confessed of her affair with Ramprakash. She also confessed of the clash between all the three, after Anil confronted her about the affair with Ramprakash.

The confrontat­ion led to a heated argument and in a moment of rage, Ramprakash hit Anil with a heavy sharp object, killing him immediatel­y. Scared of the consequenc­es, Ramprakash and Mamta took the body and dumped it in the bushes.

Police have registered the case against Mamta, Ramprakash and arrested both under relevant sections of Indian Penal Code, for causing disappeara­nce of evidence of offence or giving false informatio­n (201), Culpable homicide (301) and for murder (302).
