WR transports 8.45 mn tonnes of essential commodities through goods trains

To fulfill the commitment towards the nation and the people, Western Railway is leaving no stone unturned to ensure that essential commodities are made available across the nation during the time of lockdown. Besides the special parcel trains, the regular goods trains too are transporting commodities as usual. Since 22nd March to 20th May, 2020, 8.45 million tonnes of goods were transported through 4252 rakes of goods trains. 8452 freight trains were interchanged with other railways, including 4264 trains handed over and 4188 trains taken over at different interchange points.
