WR concludes “Swachhta Pakhwada” with great fervour and enthusiasm
“Swachhta Pakhwada” was observed over Indian Railways from 16th to 30th September, 2020 in accordance to Prime Minister ’s clarion call of “Swachh Bharat Mission’’. In continuation to this nationwide decision, Western Railway has also launched various cleanliness activities to spruce up its premises during this fortnight which culminated on 30th September, 2020. This campaign was spread over 15 days and different themes on cleanliness such as Cleanliness Awareness, Clean Stations, Clean Trains, Clean Tracks, Clean Premises, Clean Depots, Clean Railway colonies/ Hospitals, Clean Toilets, Clean Water, Clean Pantr y Cars/ Canteens, No Plastic Day, Clean Competition was observed. Alok Kansal – General Manager of Western Railway, an ardent follower of the Gandhian philosophy about cleanliness was leading this Swachhta campaign from the forefront with great enthusiasm. GM Kansal and Tanuja Kansal - President of Western Railway Women's Welfare Organization was at Gandhidham station and participated in the SwachhtaAbhiyan by doing Shramdan.
