By breaking off from the NDA in Bihar over the issue of the CM’s post, but continuing to back the BJP at the Centre, the LJP has a Plan B for its homecoming into the JDUled front in the state. If it is routed by going solo in the assembly polls, then it can walk back to the pavilion. On the other hand, if a hung House emerges and the LJP perfor ms decently, then it can drive a hard bargain with either of the two main contenders. It goes without saying that its sole condition for “support” in such an eventuality will be its demand for the CM’s chair for Chirag Paswan. Arun Malankar
